Tanya Hawes

PSYCHOLOGIST

 

Tanya Hawes (she/her) is a registered psychologist with experience and extensive knowledge in the emotional and behavioural well-being of children, adolescents and families. She has had many years of experience working with attachment ruptures and child and adolescent behavioural difficulties, including tantrums, aggression, non-compliance, and emotional dysregulation.

Tanya is an accredited Parent-Child Interaction Therapist and Circle of Security Parenting Program facilitator. She is trained to deliver interventions for young people to improve coping and resilience, anxiety, parent-child relationships, emotional regulation and collaborative problem solving.

Tanya has worked at the Family Interaction Program at Griffith University and in private practice. She has also helped coordinate several university research programs relating to parent-child relationships, stress and coping, social anxiety, peer relationships, body image and other appearance issues.

Tanya is passionate about the power of early intervention and therapy in preparing children for successful life trajectories and loves working with families to nurture satisfying relationships, improve child well-being and reduce parental stress.

Tanya is currently accepting new clients. She is available on Wednesdays.
